Location: | Vivian Creek Parking Area, Forest Falls |
Time: | Meet 7:00-7:30 am. Start hiking promptly at 7:30 am |
Duration: | @6 hours, A good destination would be High Creek, which is 4.8 miles out. |
What you need: | The usual- Walking/Hiking shoes, backpack, water, food, sunscreen |
What you need to know: | The first 1.5 miles are very tough, then it will get easier, but it's still up, up, up. Be ready for warm weather. Also be ready for some patches of snow. It should be clear most of the way, but there could still be slippery spots. If you were at TH#5, it will probably be similar. |
Other Information: | There are restrooms at the Vivian Creek parking area. |
Directions: | Turn east off HWY 38 towards Forest Falls. Follow this narrow winding road all the way to the end, and park in the paved parking area to the left. |
Carpool/Meet Spot | Stater Brothers Market, 11365 Bryant St., YucaipaIt takes about 15 minutes to get from Stater's to Vivian Creek parking lot, so if you want a ride up, or can take someone up, be at Stater's by 6:45. We will leave there by 7:00, and get to the trailhead by 7:15. Start hiking 7:30. |

Once again we welcomed 2 newcomers this week...unfortunately many others weren't able to attend. Hopefully all the snow will melt, and we'll all be at Mt. Baldy May 3rd. Note the location change for Training Hike #7, and we'll see you all there. |
