| This was a great workout hike, and a fun group to hike with. It was a bit warm, and there were critters (rattlesnake), and ticks to 'deal' with, but overall, it was worth the drive for me for the views, the people, and the workout. I had planned on doing Mt. Baldy afterwards, but the hike went a little longer, and I hadn't planned on the traffic on PCH, so I didn't get to the Ski lifts until @4:30, and didn't start hiking until 4:50. I'll be on Baldy next week though, this time via the ski hut trail (my first time). | |

Starting out....I don't think we realized how hot it was going to get at this point. |

There was a decent breeze here, overlooking the ocean. |

This was where it started to 'feel' hot. And, for 'just' a fire road, it was a GREAT workout! |

A bit of a breather here, and Bob pointed out some islands in view, and the local cities, and Zuma Beach. |

Getting to the top of the ski runs out of Baldy Notch, things were looking ok, the water was running from melting snow. |

But then it quickly turned to this! |

And I had worn my tennis shoes just cause I didn't feel like changing into the hikers again. |

I went up in the snow about 10 minutes, but it was going to take too long, so I turned around. |

| I look pretty unhappy, but I really didn't mind getting home by 7:30, instead of 10pm on a worknight. Thank goodness I hadn't taken the ski hut trail! | |
